I have both personal and professional coaching experience with these concepts. I have no tangible proof, but I believe the following to be true and enlightening spiritual guidance:
1. You have a Soul.
I believe your Soul is your own individual piece of God – it’s God within you. I believe there is a Big God that all of our Souls are connected to, and we are all connected to each other in this way.
An incredible amount of comfort and power comes from integrating with your Soul. It’s like gaining spiritual strength.
2. Your Soul creates your life.
This may be the most controversial thing I ever write. I am incredibly aware that this might make sense when considering the good things that happen in life but it can be downright infuriating to think one’s Soul would create pain, heartbreak, disaster.
I know people who have faced unthinkable tragedies, and I have enormous sympathy for all who suffer. I have suffered and will suffer again. I’m human.
I believe that life is for having experiences and learning from them. I believe that there are complex reasons for everything that happens and that finding meaning can help a person to learn, move forward, carry on.
Earth is not Heaven; we don’t have to look far to see that. I believe we come to Earth to experience Earth and all that comes with it, and in “Heaven” we experience Heaven.
3. Your Soul wants to help you with your life.
Your Soul does want to be a part of your life, but It will not interfere. YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR HELP IN ORDER TO GET IT.
Asking for help is simple. Just ask for help with anything/everything, and your help will come – often in mysterious and unexpected ways.
Your Soul wants you to be happy and It wants you to be successful, and It will help you to be both. It does take work, though. Your Soul expects effort from you.
4. You have a Soul Mission.
Your Soul Mission is something that you are, at once, drawn to doing and terrified of doing (although you may not realize it’s fear that is holding you back).
The point is that your Soul doesn’t want your life to be boring; It wants to challenge you.
With your Soul Mission, your Soul is asking you to do something that you’ve never done before and that you don’t know how to do. It is asking you to CHANGE. Change is good, and change is hard.
Your Soul will help you every step of the way with your Mission, and It will reward you for doing it. When you are doing your Mission, life is not perfect, but it is better.
When you are not doing your Mission, your Soul will nudge you into going for it in strange and yes, sometimes upsetting, ways.
Your Soul wants you to do your Mission, but you do not have to do it. It is totally hard, and it is totally your choice.
5. It’s all very complicated.
Life is complicated and I don’t think there is one answer or solution to our quandaries. There is the material and there is the spiritual. There is black and there is white. There is also grey.
I question my teacher, Linda Brady, and she puts it like this: “The Earth is the most dense, most troublesome, most challenging plane of existence that we live on as spirits. The truth is, this is not an easy place to be, and it’s getting tougher and more complicated all the time.”
“Why is that?” I ask her.
“Because we need to be more complicated. We need to be smarter, we need to be more integrated, we need to be able to ask better questions, we need not to settle, we need to be thinking, conscious people. And that’s why.”
Now I ask you.
